Little Loon Wireless - Configuring Windows Live Mail - Rural Saskatchewan Wireless High Speed Internet

WINDOWS 7: WINDOWS LIVE MAIL

Unlike earlier versions of Windows there is no email client included with Windows 7, however one can be downloaded from Microsoft. To download Windows Live Mail: (if you have already downloaded Windows Live Mail click here)

Go to http://download.live.com/wlmail and click the "Download" button on the right hand side:

When asked select "Run" and then select "Run" again on the next pop-up
Once the installer has finished downloading you will be asked which programs you want to install, unselect everything except "Mail"
Click on "Install"

Windows Live Mail will then install which may take several minutes to complete
On the following screen unselect all three options and click on "Continue"

Installation of Windows Live Mail is now complete!
To start Windows Live Mail click on the Start button then select "All Programs" then "Windows Live" and then "Windows Live Mail"
To add your littleloon.ca account hit "Alt" on your keyboard to make the menu appear and then select "Tools", and then select "Accounts."

Click the "Add" button
This launches a set up wizard.
Click on "E-mail Account" and then click "Next"

Enter your littleloon.ca email address as well as your password
If you don't want to enter your password each time you check your mail select "Remember Password"
Enter the name you wish to appear on your outgoing emails (Usually your full name) in the "Display Name:" box
Select "Manually configure server settings for e-mail account"
Click on "Next"

Your incoming mail server is a "POP3" server
Enter "pop.littleloon.ca" for the "Incoming server"
This server does not require SSL
Log on using "Clear text authentication"
Enter your entire email address including @littleloon.ca for the "Login ID"
Enter "mail.littleloon.ca" for the "Outgoing server"
Check the box beside "My outgoing server requires authentication"
Click "Next"

Click on "Finish"
Click on "Sync" on the toolbar at the top to retreive your mail.

You are now done setting up your new email address!
